Good Luck FENG SHUI Laughing Buddha of Prosperity (D)

$5.00

This cute red varnished Buddha statue is a representation of the Buddha of Prosperity.
The Laughing Buddha, otherwise known as Pu-Tai (China) embodies the ideals of the good life: i.e. health, happiness, prosperity and longevity. It is believed that the Laughing Buddha is modelled on an historical figure, a fat wandering Zen monk named Pu-tai, who possibly claimed to be an incarnation of the future Buddha Maitreya (Chinese Mi-lo-fo; Japanese Miroku).
His big tummy represents a full and prosperous life. His laughing smile represents happiness and wellbeing.
Buddha's are well known symbol of happiness, wealth, kindness and innocent contented joy and the statues are used to evoke happiness, wealth and prosperity in your life.
It is believed that by rubbing his tummy each day, which is said to contain much wealth, will bring good luck and prosperity.
This little Buddha stands a little under approximately 40 mm high and is 32 mm wide across the widest part of the base.
He weighs approximately 48 grams.
The photos of these guys are a little poor quality and don't quite represent them as well as they are in life, they have a lovely shinny varnish.
